CHRISTMAS HUG 2018
‘Tis the season to give a Christmas Hug!
Every New Year, YES brings the Christmas spirit to Armenia’s villages! Thanks to our close connections in border villages of Tavush, we are in touch with every child and family in Aygepar, Aygedzor, Movses, and Chinari. These villages are constantly suffering from Azerbaijani aggression as kindergartens, homes, and schools are shelled and under fire. Even though support is sent to these villages to rebuild the demolished buildings, not much is done to support and encourage children. This is why we started the Christmas Hug program.
When you give a Christmas Hug, you give one child:
- A piece of warm clothing (sweater, jacket, or a hoodie)
- A set of sweets and fruits (Christmas-themed chocolate, candy, oranges, apples)
Cost: $20
If you would like to give a Family Christmas Hug,
- A set of warm clothes to every family member (4 people in average)
Cost: $60
In December 2019, thanks to 42 donors, we delivered sweets and fruits to 96 children in villages of Aygepar, Aygedzor, and warm clothes to 38 kids in Movses village. We also delivered big gift bags full of warm clothes and food for 9 families.
