WHO WE ARE

Youth Empowerment and Sustainability (YES) is a non-governmental organization whose main goal is to empower the youth across several countries, primarily focusing on the youth in Armenia. YES was established in Yerevan, Armenia in August 2015 and has been providing the public with opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as education and knowledge to become well-rounded citizens of the world.

At YES, we are dedicated to inspiring the youth to build their future with intent and care about the environment and communities they live in. During its six years, YES has been a part of seven international projects implemented in the U.S., UK, Slovakia, Israel and Germany, as well as implemented 14 projects on a national level across Armenia. Over 1200 children have participated in trainings, self-development courses, community projects , and benefited from fundraising initiatives. Our fundraising initiatives aim to eliminate poverty and provide equal opportunities to all regardless of social status and place of living. Along with the number of development projects YES is very quick to react to the emergency situations and provide relief and humanitarian assistance to the individuals in need, especially those who suffered during the global pandemic of COVID-19 and Artsakh war.

We at YES see the youth as the moving force for any positive global change to come and, therefore, strongly support any initiatives that can help children bring these changes. Such programs range from developmental projects aimed to bring social change to small relief projects that are fully organized and performed by the children themselves. Often, YES volunteers organize such projects to address numerous issues, such as aiding socially vulnerable and underprivileged families in Armenia and elsewhere.

YES team, volunteers, project participants, and alumni have prioritized 7 of the 17 Global Goals (No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Climate Action and Partnerships for the Goal). Together–we in Armenia, our collaborators in different countries, and everyone else in the world who values the Global Goals – we are moving towards achieving the desired changes by 2030.
