NATURE IS THE FUTURE OF ALL OF US

According to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, there was 18.5 tonnes per capita of waste in Armenia in 2016. Meanwhile, the Federal Environmental Agency reported 226 kilograms per capita in Germany. Even though Germany is considered one of the leading countries in recycling and comparing Armenia and Germany does not seem fair, we would still like to strive to improve and even surpass countries like Germany. Armenia is a small country.

We at YES believe that through constant actions and education we can achieve and excel world standards in recycling and sustainability. It is imperative that we start encouraging Green living and teach about minimizing waste. In 2018 our community leaders and volunteers have collected 3 tons of paper for recycling. That saves around 50 trees! We have also planted 20 trees in school yards in Vanadzor, Lori and Dilijan, Tavush.

YES has included these topics even in the ZeRoRo program where we teach programming on robots. SmartApaga LLC, also known as Apaga, has been the main driving force in promoting recycling in Armenia, and the co-CEO Haik Kazarian has been a speaker at our robotics camp in 2019. Our collaboration with Apaga is all about promoting a #GreenRevolution.
